I know that proper English and writing skills are extremely valuable to becoming a successful student and a well-rounded adult.  My plan is to incorporate fun, innovative writing projects and to teach grammar in an exciting way!  I usually display out big writing projects in the junior high hallway, so check out our hallway when you are in the building!  I will use the 6-Trait writing model for most writing assignments. They will be given a grading rubric to show what I expect of them before they begin writing. Students will be responsible for revising and editing their own paper before writing or typing their final copy.  8th graders will also be doing creative writing two days a week.  They will be given points for their effort.
